In 1966, Carroll Shelby’s workshops created 1000 Shelby GT350(H) Mustangs for the Hertz car rental company. The return of a special Shelby for the rental company was released in 2023, and the new GT500-H was also painted in the 1966 black and gold livery (Hertz's corporate colors) paying homage to its 1960s predecessor.
